The trend and development of machine tools

The development of machine tools is inseparable from the development needs of the future manufacturing industry. For example, the development of industries such as energy, food, medical engineering, communications, automobile and agricultural machinery will have a great impact on the development of machine tools in the future.

For example, equipment in industries such as energy and agricultural machinery are generally large-scale machinery. When processing these equipment, the machine tool needs to have higher spindle torque, higher spindle power and larger working space. The specific requirement for machine tools is to have more custom functions instead of specific machines.

The equipment in the medical engineering, communications and other industries are generally small equipment. The components of these equipment are getting smaller and smaller, the structure is getting more and more compact, and different cutting environments are required during processing. Sometimes it is necessary to process difficult-to-cut materials such as titanium alloys. Therefore, higher precision and stronger rigidity are required for processing equipment. In terms of specific production requirements, medical engineering (targeted solutions) requires smaller volume and higher quality. In the field of communication technology, smaller size and higher cost competitiveness are required.

For the automobile manufacturing industry, it is generally a highly integrated product, which requires the integration of various manufacturing technologies in a small space. This requires new processing technologies to process new metal materials, and new processing machinery to process new materials such as fiber materials. The requirement of the automobile manufacturing industry for machine tools is that in the future, one machine can be used for processing and assembly. In terms of the deployment of machine tools, the machine tools are required to have a larger processing space and be suitable for mass production.

Looking at the requirements of different types of industries for machine tools, in the future, machine tools should meet the following basic requirements: smaller accuracy errors, reduced energy consumption, shorter processing time, higher overall equipment efficiency and sustainability.

There are different specific requirements for different products: different sizes, a wide range of products, and the processing of new materials.
There are two trends in the future development of machine tools: the development of a complete manufacturing system that meets the specific requirements of customers; and the improvement of the overall efficiency and sustainability of the equipment.
